Treatment of Gender Dysphoria/Gender Affirming Care

- Recently, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) released “We Are Here: Understanding the Size of the LGBTQ+ Community,” a report analyzing results from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey. Based on data from respondents in the Household Pulse Survey, ... at least 20 million adults in the United States could be lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender - nearly 8% of the total adult population, almost double prior estimates for the LGBTQ+ community’s size. It also suggests that more than 1% of people in the United States identify as transgender, higher than any prior estimates.

- Research shows that LGBTQ+ populations of all ages disproportionately experience more instances of mental health and substance use disorders, suicidality, and poorer wellbeing outcomes compared to their heterosexual and cisgender peers.

- Limited access and poor treatment exacerbates mental health concerns.

- At Gravity, we believe that access to respectful, affirming care is a basic human right, and we aim to be a resource for any who seek a safe place to connect, learn, and heal.  To meet this goal, we strive to stay informed and educated; following WPATH standards of care, listening to our community and clients, and approaching all sexuality related topics from a place of sex-positivity.  Welcome.
